The SFCA AGM will take place on Thursday 25th March 2021, commencing at 2000 hrs.  Due to the ongoing COVID restrictions the AGM will be run virtually and attendance will be restricted to voting members, i.e. paid up clubs as at the date of the meeting and one individual to represent the interests of the individual members.

Anyone individual wishing to be the Individual Membership’s representative should register their interest by email to by Thu 18 March.  In the event that there is more than one nomination, a poll will be conducted select the individual.

Due to the limited attendance and the constraints of trying to run the AGM virtually, the Agenda will be restricted to Constitutional issues, the election of officers and approval of the draft Annual Business Plan.  Full details minutes will be published on the website following the meeting along with the usual officer’s annual reports.

An EGM will be convened later in the year, once the COVID restrictions are eased, to allow routine and non-constitutional business to be debated and decided face to face.

Member clubs are reminded that any proposals for constitutional change must be received in writing by 2359hrs on Wednesday 10th March along with any other Agenda items. Proposals and Agenda items are to be forwarded by email to

A copy of the current constitution can be found by clicking the link below:

SFCA Constitution

A full copy of the Agenda and any proposals for constitutional change will be published here and sent to all club Secretaries by email by 2359hrs Thu 11th March to allow club officials to consult with their members.  All paid up member clubs are requested to confirm their email contacts to the Chairman at as soon as possible.

Due to the COVID pandemic all SFCA Officers posts have been extended in tenure by one year.   There is only one Officers’ post due for re-election this year and that is the post of Treasurer.  If anyone would like to be considered for this post they should contact the Chairman at by 2359hrs on Thursday 18th March.

As previously stated, I have held the post of Chairman for far too long and it is felt that a new incumbent with a fresh perspective and new idea would help to drive the Federation forward over the coming years.  This post will therefore be advertised over the next months and, if no volunteers can be found from within the Scottish Coarse Angling fraternity, the post will be advertised externally to see if there is anyone with public or private sector skills and experience who would be interested in the opportunity.

The Draft Annual Business Plan will be published on the website by Thu 18th March.  Please encourage members to come back to us with any feedback.

Tight Lines,

Gus Brindle, Chairman
