3.1 Changes in SFCA Match Calendar
CP explained that due to the F&M outbreak and the lack of suitable venues
for holding a league match with a possible turn out of 11 full teams ie. Up to
55 anglers. The following was put forward: -
Summer League match 1 would be put back to 27/5 with the other SL matches
moving 1 place down the list, SL 6 would now take the place of the All Scotland
Open which in turn would take the place of Winter League match 1, the Winter
League would now start on the 21/10.
There was discussion about the length of the winter league, it was agreed
that the Winter League was too long and should be dropped to 4 Matches, all to
count. What is now WL5 would be used as a reserve date in case there was a need
to rearrange.
The calendar was accepted as amended above, unopposed.
4. Any Other Business
CP mentioned the Golden Peg Idea and this was thought to be a good one as
Central had run a similar pool and it had and has generated much interest by
those involved.
An optional Golden Peg pool will be introduced for all senior SFCA
matches. Competitors wishing to enter will pay £1 to the match organiser before
the draw. The organiser will draw a peg number before the start of the draw
which will be the Golden Peg. Once the match draw has started entry to the
pool is closed. Should any golden peg not be drawn by an angler who entered the
pool, that golden peg number will be re-drawn at the end of the match draw.
If the angler who draws the Golden Peg wins the match they will also win the
accumulated Golden Peg pool. If the Golden Peg pool is not won the pool is
carried forward to the next match. Once the pool reaches £200 2 Golden Pegs
will be drawn. For every subsequent £100 another peg will be drawn, i.e. £399
= 3 pegs, £400 = 4 pegs. In the unlikely event of a tie on weight between match
winners on Golden Pegs, the pool will be divided amongst the winners.
The golden peg proposal was accepted unanimously and there is a great deal of
enthusiasm about it.
It was agreed that from now on the Match Secretary would contact the usual
shops (and clubs via email) regarding the venues for the matches on the Monday
prior to the match being held.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 9pm
