Minutes of 2007 Match Committee Meeting
& SFCA 2007 Match Calendar - Thursday 22 February

Attending Clubs: Magiscroft - Ronnie McLeod, Monklands - Michael Neary, Lanarkshire - John Rae, Central Scotland - Sean McGurgan.  Apologies: Chris Paton.

Member clubs nominated the number of teams which would take part in the league from each club - Magiscroft 3, Central Scotland 3, Monklands 3, Lanarkshire 2

The league will again be sponsored by the Anglers Emporium with the section tackle vouchers and will also have sponsor of £1000 of tackle for the winning team from Daiwa.

Daiwa will also continue to Sponsor the Scottish Junior national so the Federation has over £2500 sponsorship for this years events.  This years tackle vouchers will have an expiry date of 31st December 2007 and can only be spent by the person who wins the voucher.

Can I also remind any one who has any vouchers outstanding from 2006 you must spend these vouchers before May 31st 2007 or these vouchers will become void and will no longer be accepted?

The 2007 summer calendar was issued with all clubs in agreement with the dates and venues for all events (see below).

Member Clubs Proposals

  1. Lanarkshire have asked the Federation to introduce a ladies national match to the calendar with the event to be held at Dormont Lake Lockerbie on the 8th July.

      2nd by Michael Neary

The event will be held at alternative venues each year between Dormont and Magiscroft and will be organised by John Rae.

  1. Lanarkshire have proposed that alternative natural venues be found for two of the six league matches for the 2008 summer league.

It was discussed and agreed that the match secretary would look at finding other natural venues but no venue would be used for a league match without having Open events first so any venue found this year would not be used until 2009 summer league.

  1. Magiscroft would like to see the introduction of a seniors event for the over 50’s.

2nd By John Rae

The seniors national will become a regular date in the calendar and will be held at Magiscroft. Date for this year to be confirmed.

  1. Magiscroft have asked the federation to impose a maximum pole limit of 14.5mt for all federation events.

2nd By John Rae

The proposal was discussed and went to a vote with 2 for and 2 against the proposed pole limit of 14.5mt therefore rather continue the status quo the match secretary agreed that a pole limit should be 16.0mt with it to be reviewed again next year.

  1. Magiscroft have proposed that all federation team events be changed from four man teams to five.

The proposal was discussed with no seconder for the proposal, the match secretary informed the members that at last years meeting we agreed to look at changing the team numbers if the league increased in size and with the number of teams nominated the league had actually decreased from 56 anglers to 44, so it was therefore agreed that the teams would only change to 5 man teams if the league had more than 60 anglers.

  1. Match secretary proposes that the £20 team entry be used to purchase a new team winners trophy.

2nd By Sean McGurgan

AOB

The match secretary announced that he will be stepping down from the post at the end of the summer league.

All matches will draw at 9:00am with the match being fished from 11:am – 4:00pm.

All Federation matches held at Magiscroft will be fished on the Main Loch.

All Federation matches held at Broom will be fished on the same ponds as last year Canal, Small Carp and Big Carp.

      Fishery Rules For Broom Fishery

2 Keepnets to be used at all times. (1 Net Carp Only and the other for all silver fish)

All anglers to read the fishery rules before each match any angler found breaking any fishery rules will be disqualified.

Fishery Rules For Magiscroft

1 Kilo bait limit of worms.

Minimum rig length must be 2ft long using a properly shotted float.

All anglers to read the fishery rules before each match any angler found breaking any fishery rules will be disqualified.

The Federation would like all anglers to use 2 keepnets when fishing at Magiscroft with 1 net for carp and 1 for silver but will not enforce the rule as this is not a fishery but more for the conservation of the fishing stocks at the fishery.

Meeting Closed 9:30pm
