SFCA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – THU 26TH MARCH 2026

The SFCA AGM will take place on Thursday 26th March 2026, commencing at 2000 hrs.  The current plan is to use the Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Country Park, Hamilton Road, Motherwell ML1 3RT but this will be confirmed nearer the date.  The meeting is open to all individual, club and corporate members of the SFCA.

Member clubs are reminded that any proposals for constitutional change must be received in writing by 2359hrs on Wednesday 11th March along with any other Agenda items. Proposals and Agenda items are to be forwarded by email to chairman@sfca.co.uk.

A full copy of the Agenda and any proposals for constitutional change will be published here and sent to all club Secretaries by email by 2359hrs Thu 12th March to allow club officials to consult with their members.  All paid up member clubs are requested to confirm their email contacts to the Chairman at chairman@sfca.co.uk as soon as possible.

The post of Vice Chairman is up for re-election this year.  In addition, the post of Honorary Treasurer is still currently vacant, as is the post of Child Protection Officer which is currently being covered by another member of the Executive Committee.  The situation of post gapping therefore remains challenging.  Filling an Executive Committee appointment to help run the sport can be really rewarding and I would encourage anyone who feels that it might be something that they would be interested in to contact me at  chairman@sfca.co.uk or by phone and I would be happy to discuss options.  Nominations for posts need to be received by 2359hrs on Thursday 12th March.

This continues to be a very challenging time for angling and for all of the angling SGBs.  The AGM is an excellent opportunity for you to raise your concerns and help us to shape the future for our sport.  All clubs are strongly encouraged to ensure that they are represented at the AGM.
