This was the third running of this annual invitation benefit match.  Once again it was very tight at the top.  Steve McCaveny of Daiwa Scotland and Central Scotland's top Irishman Sean McGurgan battled it out on adjacent pegs on the dam wall, the estimated lead swapping on a couple of occasions.

At the final whistle, Steve's 15lb 9oz of ide, chub and solitary tench was just enough to take Seans 15lb 6oz of ide chub and roach. Both caught mainly using chopped worm at about 11 metres.

Paul Joyce of Central Scotland took 3rd from just around the bay, with a mixed bag including a stunning rudd of 1.5lbs.  Ali Wicksted of West Lothian had the bad day. Someone at work let him down, he was late and lost three carp in the only peg they showed. One was a double figure lump!!! Oh dear!

Once again, £200 was raised for Eliburn Day Centre. Pat was telling those present they had helped to buy specialist safety gear, as well as tackle, from the donations of the last two years.

Many thanks to West Lothian for putting up with us again. Special thanks to Daiwa for their continuing fantastic support with prizes, to Gordon Clark for the splendid bottle, and George Glen for aiding and abetting,

Cheers,
Karl Altdorfer
