This invitation benefit match produced a tight battle for top spot in the shallows.  Pegged opposite each other, John Callaghan, and last years winner Dave Mcauley, battled it out.  Although it went right to the wire between the two Internationals, "Cally" eventually ran out top with 10lb 6oz of orfe, roach, perch and ide.

Dave had one carp approaching 2 pounds in his mixed bag, but was left rueing the loss of three other carp.his 10lb 1oz was not quite enough to retain the shield.

Billy Cameron of host club west lothian took 3rd place with 6lb 13oz, beating several Internationals on the way. A lost carp estimated at 7lbs+ cost him dear (stronger gear next year boys!)

£200 was again raised for Eliburn Day Centre, to help them keep up the good work.  Many thanks to Daiwa for their very generous sponsorship, and support.  Also thanks to West Lothian for the venue, and Tangles in Broxburn for their generous gift.

Result -

1st John Callaghan, CSCAC  10lb 6oz.

2nd Dave McAuley, Daiwa Scotland  10lb 1oz.

3rd  Billy Cameron, WLCAA  6lb 13oz.

Many thanks, Karl Altdorfer.
