News from 2001 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Thursday March 29th - Kirkintilloch Miners Welfare Club

An excellent and very constructive meeting, thanks to all who attended.  Full minutes are available here but the main points to note were as follows -

The executive committee officers all gave their reports on their areas of responsibility.  The clear picture was of another successful year with great progress and significant achievements.  Highlights include our leading role in Angling for Change, invitations to join various fishery trusts, the development of the new Coaching & Youth Development Policy and this new website attracting up to 100 visitors a day.

The majority of the executive committee wished to remain in post and were re-elected.  Chris Paton was elected Match Secretary and many thanks were extended to the retiring officer Willie Jolly.  Paul Gould will take over from Ralston McPherson in the non-executive role of Fish Recorder and will be responsible for the Scottish Record Fish List.

One change was made to the constitution.  An additional specification of International Team Selection Criteria worded as follows -

'Team members must comply with the following criteria -

1) Born in Scotland.
Or
2) Born elsewhere with one or two Scottish parents.
Or
3) Resident in Scotland from the age of 12 or earlier with continuous residency up until the point of selection.

Only anglers who are fully paid up members belonging to an SFCA member club or association can be selected.

Once an angler has fished under the colours of another country he/she cannot represent Scotland.

Competitors must be in a position to prove their compliance with the above criteria if asked by the SFCA.'
