Scottish Winter League 2000 Match 3 Abandoned on Flooded River Clyde
The 3rd Winter League Match was abandoned on the morning of the match.
Though weather forecasts implied the river could be fishable, the peggers
found the water level even higher than expected. The decision was that it
would be too dangerous to fish and the match would be abandoned with no
re-arrangement (league series cut from 6 to 5 matches).
Most of the hardy souls present went to the Forth & Clyde Canal at Kirkintilloch for a hastily arranged sweep in blustery conditions which was won
by Paul Joyce.
