S.F.C.A. Annual National CompetitionsThe Federation organises a number of competitions each year that are attended by individuals, clubs and teams from all over Scotland and some from over the border. Venues used include the Forth & Clyde Canal, River Clyde, Loch Ken, Strathclyde Park, the Monklands Canal etc. Further information can be obtained from the S.F.C.A. Match Secretary LeaguesScottish Summer LeagueThe Summer League has six matches that normally start in April and end in September. Entry fee is £20 per team of 4. A Knock-Out Cup competition is run in conjunction with Summer League Matches. Summer League Rules Scottish Individual Winter League The Individual Winter League has six matches that normally start in October and end in December. Entry fee is £5. Scottish Individual Winter League Rules Open MatchesThe S.F.C.A. runs 6 open matches each year. The nature of these is detailed as follows. Federation Open Championships An individual only event, open to all. Scottish Pairs Championships A pairs event, open to all. All Scotland Open Championships For teams and individuals. Open only to anglers resident in Scotland. The team result is decided on individual penalty points. Scottish Open Championships (also known as the Scottish National) For teams and individuals. Open to all. The team result is decided on total weight Federation Cup For teams and individuals. Open only to Federation club members. The team result is decided on total weight. Scottish Junior Open There are two age groups: Up to 13yrs and 14-18yrs. There are trophies for the overall champion and also 1st, 2nd and 3rd in both age groups.
