All the latest on Scotland's Most Exciting New Competition

ABOUT AYRSTRIKE

The Burns an' a' That! Festival fishing competition, is set to attract competitors from all over Scotland in a bid to net the largest cash prize in Scottish fishing history.

More than 200 anglers are expected to take part in AYRSTRIKE, with 16 qualifier rounds being held and the winner from each qualifier going through to the Final at Spring Water Fisheries, near Ayr on Sunday 25th May 2008.

There are still a few tickets left for all of the qualifiers and these will now be sold on a first come first served basis.  Tickets can be provisionally booked by emailing Gus Brindle at gus@gbmsscotland.fsnet.co.uk or by phone on 07812 241816.   The bookings will be confirmed on receipt of a competed entry form, personality profile and cheque for the entry fee. The cap of 4 entries per individual has now been lifted and you may now enter as many qualifiers as you wish.

Notes: Pools payouts will be:  1st  = 50%, 2nd = 30%, 3rd = 20%

 The requirement for individuals to be a member of the SFCA in order to enter the competition has been lifted for this year and the competition is now open to all SFCA members and anyone resident in Scotland.

All the competitors failed to catch a fish !  So an eliminating draw system was held to find a qualifier.  The peg number left at the end was number 2, belonging to George Glen !
