Though Steve Hunt's match winning 5.750 Kg catch was enough on it's own to win the 2002 Scottish Pairs event on weight, his partner and 2001 winner Karl Altdorfer chipped in with 4th placed 2.050 Kg to emphasise their teamwork !
With lots of extra water in the river Steve made the most of downstream end peg, permanent peg 1, to take a succession of roach on the long pole with the fish preferring groundbait to a loose feed approach. Stef Hunter was the best of the rest with 2.400 Kg from peg 25 and Robert Harper was close behind on peg 3 with 2.350 Kg. Backup from their partners saw Stef and Drew McCluskey, and Robert and George Glen take 2nd and 3rd Pairs prizes.
No-one came close on any of the 4 Golden Pegs this time so the pot has grown to £463.
