The imagination to fish a way seldom used on the Clyde gave Alex Napier a winning advantage on an out-of-sorts river in a very disappointing penultimate round of the Scottish League. Alex took a number of dace and roach from the far bank of the Clyde on a feeder at long range when everyone else struggled on the pole. His win was all the more comfortable when he added some other fish caught on the pole in a very deep peg at the subsidence on Swanston St.
All of the top 4 individuals were pegged right next to each other around the subsidence area. Ewan Weed was well behind Alex in 2nd place but that result enabled him to stay one point clear of Dave MacAuley at the top of the Individual League Table .
Alex's Monklands D team rallied around to win the match with an excellent 47 points. This was two points clear of Monklands A whose result makes their lead an unassailable 25 points ahead of Monklands B - see Team League Table.
