SFCA International Team Selections 2005
I am delighted to announce the teams for this years International Events. As
explained at the AGM with the team not participating at this World Championships
in Moscow, we will be concentrating our efforts on The Celtic Cup and Six
Nations Championships both being held on the Big Lake at Magiscroft and both of
which are 6 man teams.
The Celtic Cup will take place over the weekend of June 25th and
26th. This will be the first of this new championships which see’s
Ireland join the traditional Scotland v Wales event.
The Six Nations will take place over the weekend of the 13th and
14th of August and I would encourage your members to come and watch
what will be Scotland’s biggest ever event.
This year the squad will comprise of 8 men who will compete in both events.
This is largely focused around the successful squad from Belgium that achieved 8th
place at last years World Championships as well as some new additions.

I am delighted to announce the Scotland teams for this coming year.
Wales v Scotland at Cricketh, North Wales, 10th and 11th July.
As mentioned at the Match Committe meeting my main aim with this event is to
try new anglers and expand the squad. The venue is a commercial fishery with
large weights of silvers and small carp expected. I am taking the
following 9 anglers who will then fish for a place in the 8-man team.
George Glen, David Corcoran, Ewan Weed, Bobby Marshall, Brian Clark, Willy
Jolly, Darren Ferguson, Karl Aldorfer, Paul Joyce
Six Nations Championship, Sully sur Loire, France, 14/15th August.
Teams of six on a venue 150km south of Paris. Main fish expected to be
skimmers and catfish. With the new six nations rules this will be a
six-man team to fish both days.

The squad also includes Bobby Marshall who will be assisting the team.
World Championships, Willbroek, Belgium, 4/5 the Sept.
Teams of five (taking six anglers) on this North Belgian venue with skimmers
expected to be the main species on the large rowing course. Leaving Saturday
28th August returning Monday 6th September.
