Coaching Update - November 2006
Over the summer the number of coarse angling coaches in
Scotland soared by around five hundred percent! This was due to the fact that
five new coaches were passed out as level 2 qualified. There is a mixed
background of match, specimen and predator anglers in this group, so something
for every one.
Two of the group have even started their own company The
Professional Anglers Association (Scotland) helping to develop the sport and
encourage new anglers. They are available to help you brush up and improve
on your own skills or learn some completely new methods and tactics. Their
website can be found at
www.scottishproanglers.co.uk
All the new coaches will be involved in many projects and
initially will be working with the Waterways Trust and their active outdoors
programme where they will teach a whole host of pupils including the
disadvantaged and disabled in the basics of coarse angling.
