River Clyde Barbel Study Group
The River Clyde Barbel Study Group was formed in late 2012 in response to increasing reports of barbel being caught in various locations on the Clyde.
As the most northerly river barbel in Europe the population is deemed to be significantly important enough to merit a degree of protection and study.
The groups main focus will be on protection, promotion and recording of data collected.
We have formed links with the Clyde River Foundation, the Barbel Society and the Angling Associations which manage the fishing on the Clyde. At present the Group is closed to new members but this will be reviewed in the future.
