Magiscroft Fishery, 13 & 14 August 2005

Welcome Messages

"As the largest fishing tackle manufacturer in the UK with our factory based here in Scotland Daiwa are pleased to be supporting the Six Nations Freshwater Angling Championships and extend a warm welcome to all visiting competitors and spectators"

Robin Morley, General Manager,
Daiwa Sports Ltd

"I am delighted to welcome the Daiwa 6th Six Nations Freshwater Angling Championships to North Lanarkshire - the first time the event has been hosted in Scotland. Since the year 2000, anglers from France, Belgium, England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland have competed in this prestigious competition and I am very proud that North Lanarkshire's Magiscroft Fishery - which was only created in 2002 - has been selected for the 2005 competition.

North Lanarkshire Council is pleased to support the championships by way of civic hospitality and I hope the competitors enjoy their time in North Lanarkshire and have time to sample some of the many sights and attractions we have to offer. A home win would be very special for the Scottish anglers, but I wish all competitors the best of luck and look forward to a terrific world-class event."

Provost Patrick J Connolly, JP
North Lanarkshire Council

"We are honoured to be asked to host  the 2005 Six Nations Championships.  Magiscroft is a very new fishery, but it was always our aim to host the Six Nations and we are working hard to make this a memorable occasion.

We look forward to seeing so many of our good friends again and promise you a special Scottish welcome."
