ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – THU 17TH MARCH 2022
The SFCA AGM will take place on Thursday 17th March 2022, commencing at 1930 hrs. The current plan is to return to a face-to-face format for the AGM and details of the venue will be published by 3rd March 2022 once the booking has been confirmed.
A contingency plan will be put in place to run the AGM virtually in the event that COVID restrictions dictate. If this is the case the AGM will be run in the same format as 2021 and as detailed below:
Virtual AGM
Attendance will be restricted to voting members as detailed in the Constitution, i.e. paid up clubs as at the date of the meeting and one individual to represent the interests of the individual members.
Anyone individual wishing to be the Individual Membership’s representative should register their interest by email to chairman@sfca.co.uk by Thu 18 March. In the event that there is more than one nomination, a poll will be conducted select the individual.
Due to the limited attendance and the constraints of trying to run the AGM virtually, the Agenda will be restricted to Constitutional issues, the election of officers and approval of the draft Annual Business Plan. Full details minutes will be published on the website following the meeting along with the usual officer’s annual reports.
Member clubs are reminded that any proposals for constitutional change must be received in writing by 2359hrs on Wednesday 2nd March along with any other Agenda items. Proposals and Agenda items are to be forwarded by email to chairman@sfca.co.uk.
A copy of the current constitution can be found by clicking the link below:
A full copy of the Agenda and any proposals for constitutional change will be published here and sent to all club Secretaries by email by 2359hrs Wed 9th March to allow club officials to consult with their members. All paid up member clubs are requested to confirm their email contacts to the Chairman at chairman@sfca.co.uk as soon as possible.
Due to the COVID pandemic all SFCA Officers posts were extended in tenure by one year. There is only one Officers’ post due for re-election this year and that is the post of Treasurer. We will also be looking for a new Child Protection Officer. If anyone would like to be considered for either of these posts they should contact the Chairman at chairman@sfca.co.uk by 2359hrs on Thursday 18th March.
As previously stated, I have held the post of Chairman for far too long and it is felt that a new incumbent with a fresh perspective and new idea would help to drive the Federation forward over the coming years. The Chairman’s post will therefore also be re-advertised over the next few months and, if no volunteers can be found from within the Scottish Coarse Angling fraternity, the post will be advertised externally to see if there is anyone with public or private sector skills and experience who would be interested in the opportunity.
The Draft Annual Business Plan for 2022/23 is published for consultation and can be found by clicking the link below:
SFCA Annual Business Plan 2022-23 (ver 1.0) DRAFT
Please take time to read it and have your say on what you think our priorities should be for the coming year. The adoption of the plan will be put to the AGM for approval.
Tight Lines,
Gus Brindle, Chairman
