ANGLING SCOTLAND LIMITED – A COMBINED FUTURE FOR ANGLING

The Board of Angling Scotland Ltd (ASL) will host a focused Seminar, ‘A combined future for Angling’ on Saturday 12th February 2022 from 0900-1030 hrs.

The event will feature a panel of members from the three angling sport governing bodies (SGBs) (Scottish Anglers National Association Ltd (SANA), Scottish Federation for Coarse Angling (SFCA) and Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers (SFSA)) delivering presentations and taking questions from a conference facility in Stirling.  Selected representatives, including clubs, individual members, partner organisations and other stakeholder bodies, providing a representative cross section of Scottish Angling, are invited to join virtually and to participate by asking questions of panel members.  The aim of the day is to both set the scene and provide an update on progress with Angling Scotland, ensure that everyone has a good understanding of where we are, where we intend to get to and why, and to develop proposals to put to the individual SGB AGMs in early 2022 to allow us to move to the next stage in April 2023.

While it may not be possible to take/answer every question raised by virtual participants on the day, the ASL Board will endeavour to respond to all queries following the Seminar through posts on our websites and social media channels.  The entire event will be available to view the following week (on You Tube) in order to reach as many anglers as possible and provide the opportunity to not only listen to the proposals, but to contribute by asking questions and voicing any concerns they may have.  The presentations will also be shared via websites and social media channels and there will be follow up questionnaires/surveys to allow those unable to participate on the day or listen to the streamed version to have their say.

While there are limited places available at the seminar we would like to invite interested SFCA members to join us virtually on Saturday 12th February and to contribute to the development of the future Structure for Scottish Angling.  If you are able to do so, please email the info@sfca.co.uk to request a link to the Zoom discussion on Saturday 12th Feb.  While we will endeavour to accommodate all interested parties, there are a limited  number of Zoom places available and the SFCA Executive Committee will allocate available places.  We aim to issue Zoom invitations on Wednesday 9th February.  We look forward to you being able to join us, whether by Zoom or later on You Tube, and are grateful for your interest.

Tight Lines,

Gus Brindle
Chairman
