Formation of Scottish Lure Fishing Team
As I mentioned in my Christmas message, over the past couple of years I have received numerous requests to consider forming a Scottish Lure Fishing Team, both from aspiring Scottish Anglers and members of the English and Irish Lure Teams. On Saturday 1st February 2020 I will therefore be holding an Open meeting to look at the level of interest in forming a Scottish International Lure Squad with a view to forming a squad and fielding a team in the World Artificial Lures from Boat Championships.
During the meeting we will look at the CIPS Rules for International Competitions and consider; squad structure, management, selection criteria, National competitions, fundraising/sponsorship etc.
If there is sufficient interest we will also look to run a series of selection events, a Scottish Lure Championships and to field our first ever Scottish Lure Team in a Home International in 2020.
The venue and timings for the meeting will be confirmed as soon as numbers interested in attending are known. If you are interested in getting involved in a Scottish Lure league, or in potentially being selected to represent Scotland at International level or just want to learn more about our plans, please email me at chairman@sfca.co.uk so that I can add you to the attendance list and send you an invite to the meeting.
Tight Lines,
Gus Brindle, Chairman SFCA
