International Team Manager Calls for Nominations

In the past few years we have increased the size of the International squad, introducing new anglers to great effect in the Sensas Challenge and Home International.  As caretaker Manager this is something that I am keen to continue to do until a permanent Manager is appointed.  I would therefore like to formally request nominations to represent Scotland in International Events in 2020.

At present it is planned to enter teams into the following competitions:

  • March 2020  – Sensas Challenge, Gloucester Canal, England
  • June 2020 – European Championships, R Sorraia, Carouche, Portugal

or

  • September 2020 – World Championships for Nations, R Mincio, Italy
  • October – Home International, tbc

Depending upon the number of nominations additional events may be considered.h

Obviously each match will require time off for travel and practice time and I will discuss this with those who nominate.  Due to changes in the funding arrangements all those selected will be required to actively engage in fund raising activities as the cost of representing Scotland is sadly, at present, borne entirely by the individuals selected.

Nominations Process, Eligibility and Key Criteria

Please return your nominations either via your club or direct to me ideally by 1st February 2017 or by email to teamscotland@sfca.co.uk. by Fri 22 Nov 19.  I am hoping to hold a squad meeting prior to Christmas to discuss the forthcoming season.

The nomination process for the Carp Team and possibly a Lure Team will be set out separately.

Tight Lines,
