Now that we have completed the last of the International events following a successful Home International in Newry, Northern Ireland I would like to formally request nominations to represent Scotland in next year’s International Events.

In the past few years we have increased the size of the squad, introducing new anglers to great effect in the Celtic Cup, Sensas Challenge and Home International.  This is something that I am keen to continue to do.  Indeed, with an increase in the number of events we are invited to field team in, it is essential.

Whilst it is not definite what events we will compete in a general overview would suggest:

  • March – Sensas Challenge, venue tbc
  • July – Fish O Mania Home International, Cudmore Fisheries, England
  • September – Maver Mega Match This, Larford Lakes, England
  • October, Home International, England
  • The World Championships currently planned for Bulgaria or The European Championships in Holland tbc.

Obviously each match will require time off for travel and practice time and I will discuss this with you.

Due to changes in the funding arrangements all those selected will be required to actively engage in fund raising activities as much of the cost of representing Scotland is sadly at present borne by the individuals selected.  I am keen to get this underway early next year.
